China Ramps Up Criticism of Blinken’s New Africa Policy

China escalated its criticism of U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Washington’s new foreign policy approach towards Africa that downplays Beijing. 

Whereas the initial reaction to Blinken’s three-nation tour emerged on Monday in two columns in the nationalist tabloid Global Times, one in Chinese and the other in English, by two scholars from a Ministry of Foreign Affairs-backed think tank, on Tuesday, the country’s top broadcaster CCTV published a similarly damning critique of the visit in an unsigned column.
