German Chancellor Olaf Scholz will embark on a three-day, two-nation African tour, marking the second G7 leader this week to visit the continent. Scholz will arrive in Ethiopia on Thursday and then go to Kenya on Friday. Sri Lanka granted the Chinese ports operator China Merchants Ports Holdings a 50-year exclusive lease to build and run a logistics center at Colombo Port. The deal is a public-private partnership, and the facility will be transferred to the Sri Lankan government after the lease period as part of a Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) model. (SUNDAY TIMES)
