The rapid spread of the highly contagious Delta variant of the COVID-19 virus in Indonesia is prompting growing concern that the Chinese vaccines the country’s now reliant on may not be up to the challenge. The Indonesian Medical Association reports that 10 of the 26 doctors who died from the virus this month had received two shots of Sinovac vaccine, prompting fears that the vaccine simply isn’t as effective as promised.
