African Countries Among 70 States That Took Part in Chinese Human Rights Forum

On Tuesday, representatives from 70 countries, including many from Africa, participated in the Beijing Forum on Human Rights, which effectively served as a platform for China to present an alternative international framework for human rights.

One attendee after another echoed China’s objections to the U.S. and European use of unilateral sanctions and the proposition that human rights values are universal rather than defined by individual nation-states based on their system of governance.
